 Architecture strikes a balance between utility and beauty and how architecture in itself is inspired by nature due to the intrinsic link that exists between humanity and nature. 

 

            In instances, architecture design can be considered as a balance between utility and works of art; furthermore, some of this same discipline’s designs emulate natural formations suggesting that there is a link between man and nature due to inspiration. One could say that beauty inspires architectural designs, and this beauty evokes positive emotion. Natural formations also inspires architectural design, as many of these formations throughout history and the present has served to provide stability to architectural projects. These two previous asseverations are jointed through the lens of inspiration towards design. These two asseverations evoke positive emotions. 

            Throughout history, beauty has been one of the most influential emotions that have inspired many works of art. Beauty has always been put in a pedestal in society. In terms of the discipline of architecture, beauty in architectural design has served to evoke positive emotions in people whether it be on residential projects, industrial projects, or on the very emotional driven structures in religious projects. In the short statement of Octavio Paz, during the beginning and throughout ,he establishes the importance beauty in architectural design. He also suggest that in architectural projects aesthetics can be implemented in a way which provides balance between utility and beauty. 

            Many of the first architectural projects have been inspired by natural formation seen in landscapes nearing the sea and more inland as well. This asseveration serves to demonstrate the humans share a special bond with nature. Arches, being a fine example of a natural formation used in architecture proves that humans are inspired by nature in the architectural spectrum. We can see in initial instances of the film  (Baraka), a species very similar to us in the evolutionary spectrum is presented by later images of the cosmos This could suggest a visual representation of humanity and its bond with nature and the cosmos. 

            In the architectural space of some projects, beauty serves to provide positive emotions; some of these projects resembling beauty are given rise through inspiration from the earth’s natural formations. Architectural design in instances, as presented by Octavio Paz’s short work, is a balance between utility and aesthetics. Beauty being the center of it all, evokes positive emotions if implemented in the design language of a project. This beauty implanted of the  projects in architectural design, comes through the lens of nature’s natural formations. Many projects from the past and present resemble inspiration from natural phenomena.
